Marvin Smith grew up in North Minneapolis and stands as a testament to community
commitment. With a previous background in human services, his entrepreneurial path led him to work in the construction trade. His many years of experience in the field have a dual focus; developing a thriving and successful business, and creating job and business opportunities for others in his community. He has contributed significantly to minority participation in the trades and to the economic growth and resilience of minority businesses in his role as president of the local chapter of the National Association of Minority
Contractors (NAMC-MN).

By joining forces with unions, he envisions a landscape where meaningful, sustainable, and inclusive careers become the norm, uplifting not just individuals but the entire community, one job opportunity at a time.
